Nicola McClean B.Arch(Hons) RIBA ARIAS TechIOSH
- Nicola formed Alliance cdm (formerly Alliance ps) with Walter Wood in 1995 with the view to making it a multi-disciplinary company. Nicola heads the practice and is responsible for implementing the administrative structure for the company. She has experience in many different types of project from large commercial developments to plant decommissioning which range in size from £80,000 to £5 million.
Nicola is a qualified project architect who, if possible, undertakes work for sister company Slorach Wood Architects. Nicola feels that her qualification as an architect was the basis for her becoming a planning supervisor, therefore it is her duty to maintain a level of experience to keep abreast of changing design techniques and current building regulations.
Walter Wood Dip Arch RIBA ARIAS - Walter is responsible for the promotion of the company and site safety issues having completed the CITB course on site safety management. As a successful developer and architect, Walter has a wide and varied experience of the design and construction process through his differing roles in construction projects. As a planning supervisor he manages predominantly housing development projects ranging from £500,000 to £2 million.
Caroline Slorach Dip Arch RIBA ARIAS - Caroline joined the practice as a director in 1999 and is responsible for overseeing the design aspects of the projects we are involved in and is instrumental in promoting the practice. Her work as a director of sister company Slorach Wood Architects keeps her abreast of Designers' Duties and their approach to integrating their CDM duties into their design approach.
Robin McGlade - Robin is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office, ensuring that all administrative and secretarial requirements are carried out efficiently. Robin works very closely with Nicola, this helps to increase her knowledge of CDM which in turn helps her to deal with a wider range of administrative issues.
